Want to be an active part of the Portland art scene? Art on Alberta is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the Alberta Art District's distinct cultural identity through art and educational activities. Our biggest event of the year is May's Art Hop, which will celebrate the work of Thelma Johnson Streat in 2009, former Portland resident and the first African American woman to be in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. We are currently accepting applications for two board positions to help organize this event, as well as smaller ongoing projects. Available positions are: volunteer coordinator and oversight on grant applications (does not include grant writing, just organizing and meeting deadlines.) Please direct questions to
president@artonalberta.org.
Application deadline December 1, 2009.
