August 28-September 21
The Feature Area is relatively new to the Guardino Gallery. Situated in the front area where the frame shop used to be, the new Feature Area will host "Mini-shows" on a changing monthly basis. We will also be scheduling the Window as a showing area and a place for installations.

Chris Cole is a sculptor and painter. Through both mediums, he examines the relationships between the industrial and natural worlds. His sculptures explore a merging of movement, functionality and esthetics. His longtime fascination with physics and the way things work is evident in all is kinetic sculptures, which are made with small motors and a variety of new and reclaimed metals. His paintings, alternatively, provide an avenue for a departure from the laws of physics. They are conceptions of things that are a blend of organism and mechanism. It is in this intersection of nature and industry that I find inspiration. To quote Chris, “I have been taking things apart and reconfiguring them in new and different ways, and painting allows me the greatest freedom in this aspect.” Pictured Left: Painting |
