Tabor Porter’s creates mixed media assemblages. He explains that he is trying to repair the present with the past. “We use and we discard. We seem to have lost the need to repair or refurbish the things we use. I am trying to attend to that need by creating found and mix media art, to create a unique object in the present. The very concepts of working with the “hand” is missing in the collective thought of manufacture in today’s' environment. These concepts have to be reinvented if we are to find balance in today’s' world. My “hand" is drawn to symbols and archetypes which I collect and weave into visions of my subconscious that relate to the present.”

2chris1 Chris Giffin produces one of kind objects from recycled and found materials. She uses a cold construction method, assembling all her pieces with nuts and bolts, wire, nails, etc. The ingredients in each piece are chosen for their beauty, mystery or whimsical spirit. The patina and aging of these parts is essentially the palette. The stories in these old found objects come together to form a new community in each piece of work and a new story is told. To quote Giffin, “It is in my nature to seek the unusual and find amusement in the discarded. The forms and surfaces of found objects seduce me. They enchant me with their elusive histories and memories.”
